Welcome to Lodge Bearsden

Thank you for visiting our website and I hope that you enjoy the content associated with our Lodge.

For the last 57 years we have enjoyed a prominent position within Scottish Freemasonry, which is one of the world's oldest secular fraternal societies, and exist under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Scotland, which is the corporate body governing Freemasonry in Scotland and Scottish Masonic Lodges in many other parts of the world.

If you have visited us to learn more about our craft, Freemasonry is a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values and our members are taught its precepts by a series of ritual dramas, which follow ancient forms, and use stonemasons' customs and tools as allegorical guides.

The essential qualification for admission into and continuing membership is a belief in a Supreme Being and is open to men of any race or religion who can fulfil this essential qualification and who are of good repute.

Freemasonry is not a religion, nor is it a substitute for religion. The one essential qualification means that Freemasonry is open to men of many religions and it expects and encourages them to continue to follow their own faith.

We are not a secret society and our members are free to acknowledge their membership and there is no secret about our aims and principles but like many other societies, we do regard some of our internal affairs as private matters for its members only.

So enjoy our site and if you wish to contact us to explore the benefits and value associated with joining our fraternity, please contact our secretary for more information.
